Mango Mint Raita


Getting married has been quite a fun filled ride ,

Everyday I would try new recipes as a new bride !

No, It wasn’t to prove myself or win over ;

It was simply to celebrate each new day together !

Since then I have made quite a few discoveries,

There was pasta, pizza and a lot of curries !

But the love of mango left them all behind,

When I put mint, mango and curd to grind ;

What I got was this delicious dish ;

Mango was available all year round I wish !

Presenting Mango Mint Raita

Preparation Time – 10 minutes

Serves – 4

Ingredients :

  • Ripe Pulpy Mango – 1 large or 2 medium
  • Mint leaves –  1/2 cup
  • Curd chilled –  1 1/2 cups
  • Green chili –  1
  • Salt to taste
  • Black rock salt to taste
  • Red chili flakes for sprinkling

Procedure :

Step 1: Roughly chop green chili and mint leaves.

Step 2: Peel and slice the mango and remove the seed. Grind together the mint leaves, half of the mango pulp, green chili into a fine paste using a 1-2 tbsp water.

Step 3: Whisk the curd ( or pass through a sieve) in a bowl. Add the mango mint paste, salt and black salt and mix well.

Step 4: Cut the remaining mango slices in cubes for garnishing.

Step 5: Top with chopped mangoes, sprinkle red chili flakes and serve chilled !IMG_20160505_211318
