Well I am already in the Valentine’s day mood and thought of getting a bit lovey dovey this morning
- Slice of Bread – 1
- Egg – 1
- Oil/Butter – 1/2 tsp
- Black Pepper – pinch
- Salt – to taste
Step 1: Heat the oil/butter in a not-stick flat base pan. Using a heart shaped cookie cutter make a cavity in the bread and then toast it on the pan slightly on the upper side and then flip it over.
Step 2: Separate the egg yolk and white because the whole egg will be too much volume for the bread cavity. It is up to you whether you want to use only the egg white / egg yolk or egg yolk with a little egg white for the center. I wanted an oozy center so I decided to use the egg yolk.
Step 3: Add the egg to the center and let it cook on low flame so that the egg gets cooked without burning the bread. Sprinkle a little salt and pepper and serve with steaming hot coffee!
